'North Shields Triangle'
Home Zone regeneration project
2006
Collaboration with lead artist Kieth Barrett siting carved sculpture on residential streets.
This 'street art' was one aspect
of a regeneration programme initiated by local residents in
1997. Eventually the community were fortunate enough to win a
substantial government grant to pursue the scheme as a
Home Zone
project. This enabled more ambitious plans for environmental
development including, tree planting, traffic calming measures,
the laying of new street surfaces and a budget for art works.
Input from other artists included mosaic,
murals and glasswork.
